TICKET TO RIDE, BOLTON VALLEY, VERMONT
I roll up to Bolton Valley for Opening Day 2010, right on the heels of the first snowstorm in just a little bit, so there's some fresh powder to play with in the trees, and to skiers' left on trails, where the wind has it stacked.
A great day with friends on home turf for the first time since April 2006. I worried that time away from Vermont would have shrunk me to a whinging, shivering puss. But it was not bad at all, and a comp ticket helped.
As you would expect, everything skied Opening Day were on closed trails. Music: Sometimes Enough by the Black Seeds.
